TRU Law Students Curl for United Way

Written on Friday, March 13th, 2015

Congratulations to the generous and fun-loving law students at Thompson Rivers University, who recently hosted their 1st annual TRU SLS Curling Bonspiel at the Kamloops Curling Club.

Twenty-one teams and eighty-nine players made up of TRU law students and Kamloops legal pros hurried hard to raise almost $500 for the United Way.

We got a kick out of some of the team names (like "Just-Ices of the Sweepreme Court" and "Curling Me Softly") and prize categories ("Best Slip and Fall"). Looks like even those who didn't take to the ice were honoured, as evidenced by the "Most Enthusiastic Observer" prize. And there couldn't have been much disappointment for the  first two teams eliminated, because they won the 'It’s All About the Beer' award.

Check out more details and see some photos of last month's event on the TRU SLS website: Bonspiel Roundup: $487 Raised for United Way!

The recap says the students can't wait until next year's bonspiel, and frankly, we can't wait to read about it!
