Richard B.T. Goepel Called to BCCA Bench

The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced on November 8, 2013 that the Honourable Richard B.T. Goepel, a judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, has been appointed a judge of the BC Court of Appeal to replace Mr. Justice C.E. Hinkson, who was recently appointed Chief Justice of the BC Supreme Court.

Weatherhill Appointed New BCSC Judge

Upcoming BC Judicial Moves: Retirements and Appointments

As we transition into Fall, there look to be a number of upcoming movements among the BC Bench, both in retirements and new appointments. At the B.C. Court of Appeal, Madam Justice Joanne E. Prowse and Madam Justice Catherine Ryan are both retiring as of September 15 and August 31 respectively. Both are long standing members of the bench, and will leave big shoes to fill!
